It’s been a minute…

Hi friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything here, so I figured I should probably start with a little life update before jumping back into our regularly scheduled wine content. 😊

The short version is that 2026 has been BUSY. In the best way, but still very, very busy.

Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Bangalore, India for work. It was my first trip to India and such an incredible experience. I spent most of my time with my colleagues there, but of course I managed to squeeze in some amazing food, sightseeing, and a little exploring whenever I could. One of my favorite things about traveling has always been experiencing a place through its food and beverage culture, and India certainly did not disappoint.

A few weeks later, I found myself on the complete opposite kind of adventure in Scotland.

I spent time in Edinburgh before heading through the Highlands, out to the Isle of Skye, and eventually over to the west coast and the island of Iona. Scotland was absolutely stunning. Around every corner was another castle, tiny village, gorgeous view, or very old church that made the history nerd in me extremely happy.

And since Scotland isn't exactly known for its vineyards, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to expand my beverage education into Scotch whisky. When in Scotland, right?!

I loved learning more about the similarities between wine and whisky, especially how much place, climate, production, aging, and the choices of the producer ultimately influence what ends up in your glass. I have a feeling some Scotland inspired content may eventually make its way onto The Wine CEO!

And then there’s the biggest life update.

I was recently promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer, which has been an incredibly exciting next step in my career. Many of you know that wine is actually my “side hustle.” My full time career has been in leadership and HR for many years, and stepping into a C-suite role has been a goal I’ve been working toward for quite some time.

It has also made life a little crazy lately!

But somewhere between work, airplanes, Scotland, India, seminary classes, podcasting, and opening a few good bottles along the way, I realized how much I’ve missed this.

I’ve missed writing about wine. I’ve missed sharing what I’m drinking and learning. And most importantly, I’ve missed connecting with all of you.

So, I can’t promise that I’ll be the most consistent blogger or that my schedule will allow the old “new episode every Wednesday” schedule. But I do have lots of wine, travel, and stories I’m excited to share. I still love wine and believe that learning about wine should be fun, approachable, and never intimidating!

So thank you for sticking around. There are a lot of bottles still to open and I’m excited for this next chapter of The Wine CEO…and very glad you’re here for it.

Cheers!
